I bake scratch cornbread ...
just like my Mom always did.
I got her well-seasoned black iron skillet when we closed our parents home after Mom went to HEAVEN.
I'll never be able to make cornbread like Mother...
she would bake it, run a knife around it, plop it out on a plate.
perfect. every. single. time...
cornbread in her 68 year old skillet is light, fluffy, and really crispy!
Looks yummy to me. (and I love your red polka dot plate.)

I know what you mean, Tina about not being able to do it just like your Mother. Me too. No matter what it is and even with her recipe and watching her do it all my life, there are just things that never taste the same. You are probably just like me, you do it just perfectly, you just miss your mother so that nothing seems to be a good as she did it. I'm looking forward to 2016. I had a difficult year health wise and am now excited about healing, gratefulness and new beginnings that the new year can offer!!!! Happy New Year to all!
