This is my weekend find~ I found it on Craigslist...
The sweetest vintage patio set I've ever seen! If it would fit, this patio set would be going in my dining room. I think it has a great cottage feel to it. I guess we'll be eating outdoors a lot more now!
See that little red and white polka dot pillow? I found that at Wal-Mart this weekend also. Those cute pillows on my swing~ Valarie over at Glimpse Of My World sent them to me. Washed, pressed and ready to enjoy!
All the chairs are rockers. These great rockers will need cute cushions. Leslie Janson I'm going to need you!!
I'm debating on keeping it white, or painting it red. I love the white. But sure miss my red patio set. Which, by-the-way, the red set will be going to Mika and David. Any thoughts on this red or white debate would sure be appreciated! ;- )
How much did you pay for this found?

Where can I find this patio set? or at least a chair? I have been looking for a while and here you have it.

I'd be interested in hearing. The TOS seems rather clear that it is not unless expressly approved by Amazon. I guess if the library got it in writing then they would be ok.

It is interesting to note that with the state of the enconomy more people are enjoying their decks and patios than before, or taking the family for a nice picnic in the park. Maybe it's bringing us more together as families. Pete

I have a similar set that I just bought and I am in the same dilemma, but was thinking about removing the rust and painting it white. But I think I will leave it white now and add the red/white table cloth and leave it retro looking. I would do the same, they are too beautiful to be changed. my two cents.
Posted by: Siva | June 28, 2009 at 03:31 PM
WHITE ! Then every color of cushion would go with it.
Posted by: Theresa@TakeASentimental Journey | June 15, 2009 at 06:29 AM
I VOTE RED! White is lovely, but predictable. With white, the details are a bit lost. Red is daring and eye-catching, which fits your personality. I KNOW you want red - you said you missed your red set already. You are just waiting on the right comment to fire you up for the task!
Posted by: D Casey | June 11, 2009 at 06:13 AM
I think the set would look lovely painted turquoise blue or yellow.

Ok! I'm a little different! I think you need a change! Red was great but that was your old set! White is ok but have you ever thought about a pale yellow! It's just a thought! I'm sure whatever you pick will be great!

What an awesome find! I would paint the inner parts red and keep the edges white...like lace. Who says they have to be all one color or the other?

Love all the swirls in that patio set. Your back yard looks amazing! So peaceful and calm.
Posted by: Josie | June 10, 2009 at 11:52 AM
I love your new patio set. Now normally I would jump all over the "RED"...but in this particular case...I think I would leave them white...I think it actually gives them more character than red would...kind of that romantic cottagey look. I think your pop of red can come from your cool swing...maybe red in the cushions and a RED fabric square with all your lovelies on top...or something that gives a big "pop" of red in the center of the table. Live w/it white for a season...and change it later if you decide you're a true die-hard red fan. I love it, any way you use it...it will be awesome!
Blessings...

Well I vote to add red in the cushions -- you can always paint red later if the cushion does not give it enough red! Wow! Are they ever vintage charm!

I'm voting for the white. The set is beautiful the way it is.....but if you decide to go red, that would be great too. everything you do always looks wonderful and just right for Cherry Hill Cottage!

Gorgeous!!! I love those chairs!! I would leave it white!

Craigslist!!! Yay! Just have to say that even the FREE list on Craigslist has more things than you would imagine. You could furnish an entire house with what is free on there. Yesterday I got an almost new Bissell steam cleaner which retails for 128.88 at Walmart for $20, as the lady was moving that evening. Found a free great washing machine. Support your local Craigslist, especially give things away free. I just donated a sofa and two chairs to an arts center. Now, I only have two sofas, and can actually walk through my living room!!! For every thing I bring into the house, am attempting to give away the same number. Let go and let God! Bless all of you sweet people.

Ok...I know you have had a lot of comments and this may seem silly, but what does your heart really want? If you want it red then it should be red...give it a little time, you will know. Just ole Ceekay chiming in!

I think leave them white and do fluffy cushions in red with white polka dots - that would be darling!!

ooooh, OMG tina!- I Have been looking for a set just like this-{that I can afford}- FOR A LONG TIME!! each time I find one like it or similar-just way too expensive! Lucky you,- may I ask what did you pay for it off craiglist? Around here {Reno,NV} & nearby California this little set would sell for over 500$!! I love it in WHITE!-or, what about the greenish color that I think you painted your patio ceiling in?--I have seen the matching little swing to this set you got-it is absolutely adorable!- You just got my Dream victorian Patio table set!-Love, Valery

You stinker!! I love 'em!! I too shop Craigslist all the time and get great bargains..I will have to show you my very old chandy I bought for $10 and then painted it RED!! It's still on the floor waiting for me to make a chain sleeve so we can put it up.
You know me? I love RED...but also have white for balance..then have fun with cushions and linens! Whatever you decide, it will look FAB!!

Hi Tina,
That vintage set is awesome and it sure had your name stamped all over it. You find the neatest stuff. I like the set white but I think red would be smashing too.
I have that pillow and I thought of you the minute I found it. I knew you would like it. I have fun in target trying to find something that says "Tina." LOL You always find the neatest stuff there.
You sure scored with that set. Just love it.

Hello Tina, I have the exact same in a chair not a rocker. Mine is black (original paint) I LOVE red but I would not paint it red. I think it looks more vintage white. In fact, I decided to paint mine white now!! Your fault! ;0) I would add red check cushions and some red pillows. I have received so many compliments on mine through the years, don't ever part with them! Jodi

I say paint it black! LOL! I've been painting all my iron funiture black and I love it. Sorry I'm being difficult!;)

Sure is cute. I'm thinking white, that way you can change the textiles anytime you want - just like I know you will. I'm sure it will be gussied up. I adore your style.

Hi Tina. I've been here so many times before. Now that I have a started a Blog of my own, I felt it was time to leave you a comment ; ) That patio set is the sweetest, what a fantastic find!! and the fact that they are rocking chairs, gosh, that makes them even more special!! Although I love color, especially red, I think I would leave them white, to keep the vintage look and let the cushions and pillows add the color......can't wait to see what you decide!

Tina- Lovely set! Leave it white for the vintage charm- you'll have SO MANY color choices with fabric cushions. Will you be putting a cushion on the back also? ENJOY it whatever you decide.
Posted by: Terri | June 08, 2009 at 03:15 PM
I'd keep it white. It would seem more "vintage-y" that way. Plus, like others have mentioned, you'll be able to choose different cushions to add the splashes of color that you love.
Posted by: Lindy | June 08, 2009 at 02:38 PM
Vibrant Cherry Hill Cottage Red! with cherry cushions and a big white pot of red geraniums in the middle! That's my vote. Love the set...Madeline

Oh it's adorable! The curly cues on the chairs might show up more if it's red. Whatever you do will be darling. Can't wait ot see.

then saw it should be red.

I agree with the last post. If you paint it red it won't look vintage any longer. Put a red and white checked table cloth on the table and some red and white cushions on the chairs. You have had red patio furniture now try white. ....JAN
Posted by: JAN | June 08, 2009 at 01:10 PM
I would keep it white.......then you can change the cushions to any crazy red print you like :) And if you ever get tired of red, lol ...its much easier to change cushions than repaint.
Posted by: seanymph | June 08, 2009 at 12:53 PM
I think leave it white. But the possibilities are endless with your creativity with cushions, etc.
Posted by: Erin | June 08, 2009 at 12:36 PM
Hello Miss Tina,
I love it as is...maybe bring in your red with the cushions! That was a terrific find! Don't you just love Craigs List?

Posted by: Nicole | June 08, 2009 at 12:30 PM
I think I would leave them just the way they are...but lots of color in the cushions and pillows.
I'm off to search Craigslist now!!
Posted by: Kimberli | June 08, 2009 at 12:23 PM
i think you should keep them white just as they are. they are perfect. then add a vintage cherry tablecloth with some cherry tablecloth clamps dagling down. and cherry cushions. white background on these the tablecloth and the cushions! or compromise and paint them red and white....candy cane!!! joking...i really think white is the way to go.
Posted by: jaz | June 08, 2009 at 12:23 PM
Tina, I loved your red set, and because I loved it so much last summer we painted a set red for our booths and it sold immediately. Everyone loved the red, so I would for sure paint the new beautiful set red. Have a wonderful Monday.

Hi Tina,
I love them white, only because it makes them look vintage and I think red would make them look too new. I think they would be adorable with a cushion that has your red in it, and then you can enjoy both! Good Luck,

I think that they will be beautiful either color once you get cushions.. I love your porch swing with the pillows and how you are allways making new looks with them! Love all your ideas =)

Posted by: Wife of Rob | June 08, 2009 at 11:51 AM
I think I'd paint them red, and add red and white cushions/pillows. I need to confess that I'm coveting big-time!
Posted by: Helen | June 08, 2009 at 11:49 AM
You know, I absolutely LOVE red BUT... I was thinking that white would allow for a more frequent change of the cushions.. just a thought.
Posted by: Amy | June 08, 2009 at 11:48 AM
Hi Tina,
I definitely think they should be red. I looked back at your photos of the red patio set and think it would look so stylist in red which also adds a pop to the mat rug on the your deck.
GO RED!
Posted by: Monica | June 08, 2009 at 11:33 AM
I think painting it red would make it POP! Also it would add a bit of "funk" and whimsey! By the picture, I can already see it doesn't stand out like your red set did. What a find! Enjoy!!! Francine
Posted by: Francine | June 08, 2009 at 11:31 AM
Hi Tina, the set is adorable. I wish I
could shop with you.....you always find
such cute goodies. I love the white but
I know how you like red. Painting them
red would definitely "jazz" them up but
I like the white because I think it just
makes them seem more vintage. You could
always paint one red and see what you
think. (now isn't that an original thought????)
Have a great day!
