Cute chickens foot...

One little flaw...a little bitty hole in his foot. It's not noticeable...I bought it, took it home and then saw it. I love him anyway!

Sweet cottage flowers...

Always Kiss Me Goodnight...

 

The first thing Milton said when he saw my new "Always Kiss Me Goodnight" sign...GREAT, NOW I GET TO MOVE A BOARD... AND ALL THESE PILLOWS!!! I heard that all the way in the kitchen...I screamed back...I'm going to hang it up somewhere! I don't think he even read the sign...You think we kissed before we went to sleep?? ; - (

My sweet sister Kathy made it...she is very talened. Mika and I are going to her home next week~ Houston, Texas. Kathy's daugther Tambi will be taking Mika's bridal portraits. I'll be sure to take some photos of Kathy's beautiful home~ it's room to room cute!

It's a Cottage Thing...

 

When I first saw this cute cottage bin I screamed...I really did! It's so dang cute! I bought it from Nancy at Shab-N-Chic... Nancy has a wonderful blog and on-line shop. You've got to go visit Nancy~ she is so sweet and beautiful! When I received my bin in the mail...Nancy had the shipping box wrapped in brown wrapping paper. I thought....gosh, that's a pretty touch! Thanks Nancy I love the cottage bin~ I'll treasure it forever!

See those cute white kitchen towels? With the crocheted trim. Aren't they cute~ Kathy, my sister gave them to me...And that cherry towel...that's from Amy. The bloom is a cutting from a Magnolia tree~ we have beautiful Magnolia trees everywhere in East Texas. That bloom smells like a fresh lemon.

 

Kathy made this darling flower container. Made from old beaded board and a little vintage milk bottle.

linguine with creamy salmon sauce...

   

At our cottage we like pasta, asparagus, cheese, and salmon. This dish has all these ingredents in it..with a little HEAVY CREAM too! = ) All you need is a nice crusty french bread to serve with it...

Cook pasta in lightly salted boiling water until tender but still firm.

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese.

1 package (10 oz. each) frozen asparagus, thawed.

Thawed and cut into 3/4-inch pieces.

This is good...2 packages (3 oz. each) smoked Pacific salmon (Chicken of the Sea)

Drained and flaked.

While pasta is cooking, prepare the sauce. In a medium-size sacepan, bring cream and minced onion to a boil. Stir in asparagus and salmon. Heat through. Turn off heat and stir in 1/2 cup of cheese, salt and cayenne.

Drain pasta...Toss linguine with the sauce, top with remaining cheese and serve immediately.

I love my little cherry night lite Kathy~ Kathy is my sister, she lives in Houston, Texas..she also gave those cute little vintage red top salt and pepper shakers. And the white bowl with the red rim. You can find that bowl at Wal-Mart, it's the perfect size. Kathy gave me a whole sack of fantastic stuff!! We both celebrated our birthdays back in March. This past weekend we exchanged gifts when Kathy came home to be with our Mother while I was working/having fun at Canton/First Monday...

Thanks Kathy, my sweet sister...I love all my birthday gifts!!

Monica and I bought these beautiful tomatoes at Canton, Texas this past weekend~ they are delicious! I've got to share with you the watermelon story~ At this fruit stand they had watermelons priced for $10 to $12. Monica and I couldn't't believe it...I had to ask why! The lady at the fruit stand told us it's because of the "gas prices"...they bought the melons in the Valley.

I love my "All Cherry Basket" Sharon! I was completely overwhelmed when Sharon from Buffalo, Texas came to our booth at Canton and gave me this wonderful gift basket...Sharon is so nice, so sweet, so...NICE! She filled it with the best surprises~

 

Just look at all the goodies in the basket~ I love the hand-painted cherry cup. And the milk bottle full of my favorite candy in the whole world~SOUR CHERRIES! I buy them every time I go to Hobby Lobby. How did you know Sharon? = )

I just love the gift tags~ with an "S" monogram for my last name, Smith. Sharon also noted they can also be used as book markers. There's a whole stack of them~ a whole stack!!

I can't wait, it could be today...to try Sharon's Jalapeno Pepper Jelly. It's the cutest little dressed jar of  jelly I've ever seen. There's even a monogram "S" knife...BEAUTIFUL SHADE OF GREEN!
