Marlee Pearl's nursery is 99.9% complete....
......all we need now is our baby girl.
Due December 25th.
Mika wanted Marlee Pearl's room to be BRIGHT and HAPPY.
Walls are painted aqua.
The Jenny Lend was Mika's crib 29 years ago. Milton painted it yellow to match the fabrics Mika picked for the bedding.
I gave Mika the red and white settee for the nursery....
(Mika said Marlee Pearl wanted it)
; - )))
A round tee-shirt rug in dark aqua.
One of Mika's old sock monkeys...
....gumball machine for color.
Rebekah sewed large ball fringe to plain curtain panels.
Monica found the little table at an estate sale. Milton painted it red. The top wasn't so great, so we covered it w/ oilcloth.
This cute monkey is from David's Mom.
It smells good, like baby powder.
....the nursery smells like a baby!
Rebekah made the bed skirt and all the pillows.
Thank you so much Rebekah~ LOVEYOU!
We've had this rocking chair in our family for years.
rock-a-bye-baby.....This old wire basket is tied w/ ribbon to the end of the crib. It's filled with good reading books.
Great vintage cabinet. David's Mom and Dad bought it for the nursery.
It's filled with Mika's childhood books, and fun collectibles.
The 3 vintage nursery rhyme pictures above the cabinet were given to Mika from Staci Bryan, Monica's daughter.
THANKS STACI!
Antique dresser is now the changing table.
Our favorite artist~ Duda Daze painted this canvas for the nursery...
It's a gift from 'us'.... Lollie and Pop.
We sent scrap fabric from the bedding to Di. She used it for the dress. Di used little red ribbon pieces for her hair. The ric-rack is a little scrap piece too. Di also incorporated what Mika loves in the painting -an owl, butterfly, daisies, blue birds, & red mushrooms. Mika wanted her shoes to be red Chucks. We love the cute bunting Di.
.....sure hope Marlee Pearl's hair will be brown!!
Go here to see Di's work.
Thanks Di~ we LOVE the painting!
The corner 'mobile' is really for 'color'......
Made from a red umbrella, lanterns, and paper pom-poms.
Mika made Marlee Pearl's name from wooden letters w/ scrap-book papers.
Crocheted owl blanket~ All Things Granny
Polka dot crib sheet~ Putucos
Milton and I enjoyed helping Mika and David with
Marlee Pearl's nursery.
Love and happiness to all....
Lollie and Pop

So adorable! Marlee Pearl is going to love her very special room.
A suggestion for you: Pose Marlee with either (or both) of her monkeys as a newborn, then periodically over the next few weeks, months and years. You'll really be able to gauge her growth as the monkey grows smaller and smaller next to her over the course of time. :-)
Looking forward to pics of Miss Marlee Pearl!

Marlee Pearl is truly blessed and she will be a blessing to you all. What a wonderful Christmas gift from above. There is nothing quite a special as that first grandchild and just think of all the joy she'll bring into your lives. Your cup will runneth over.

What a sweet nursery! Good luck w/ the due date! My son was born on Christmas Eve and my grandmother's birthday was Christmas Day and she was able to be there when he was born...my doctor however went snow skiing!
It all worked out, but no one was working on a holiday like Christmas but we didn't even notice we were so caught up in our special gift!

It all looks just perfect! Eli had the same crib (painted red). Aaron got brand new furniture, but was still using it when Eli was born. :)
Congratulations to all of you and enjoy the rest of your wait. I'm sure it will fly by.

Mika had just left for lunch but since I asked about her ..the gals at the counter are so excited for her they asked if I had seen her nursery.. they showed me on your blog and they were all just giddy over the blog, the nursery, Mika.. I am so happy for you... wishing you well.. If you & Monica ever up this way holler!! :)

Just.
So.
Sweet!
Diane's picture is the icing on the cake, too. How perfect, down to the bunting!
Tina, Marley Pearl is going to be thrilled to have such a sweet, sweet room to call her own.

PS: I did a post recently about the gnomes and mushrooms that I found for sale on etsy. I didn't know that Mika likes these!
