Monica and I spent the day drinking coffee with Baileys while we adorned this old wire lampshade with scraps of red and white fabrics....
....it took us several hours to rip fabric and wrap each old spoke. We finished it off with little knotted bows.
We think it turned out very cottage-y cute!
Our fabric lampshade was inspired by our friend~
Thanks for today Monica.

Very Cute!!!
Can you buy a wire lamp shade like that or do you take one apart?! I would love to make one!!!

I bought this lampshade on Craigslist, its old, and took the rotten fabric off. Old vintage wire lampshades are easy to find.

I think the bare bulb would really bother my eyes. It doesn't bother you?

Actually, I think you should try one of those candlelight shaped bulbs in a low wattage. I'll bet that would give it a more romantic look.

thats what I have in it. And it doesnt bother me at all...

Tina I love it, I have one of mom's that is
just the wire left and right now it is on
top of my dress form. That is what I had
planned on doing to it. It doesn't have that
wonderful shape like yours though. There is
a bracket you can buy that would screw onto
your socket that holds a small glass shade
if some of your commenters need one. Your
shade is absolutely fabulous.....as usual.

Dear Tina,
Thanks for sharing this unique idea! I bought an old antique lampshade with vintage fabric that was also in shreds. I bought it for its shape. I have viewed several ideas for using it but this is the best - one that I think I am capable of doing. LOL
Thanks again for sharing.
Hugs,
Connie
