Very cute idea, Tina!

Very Cute!!!
Can you buy a wire lamp shade like that or do you take one apart?! I would love to make one!!!

Tina Smith

I bought this lampshade on Craigslist, its old, and took the rotten fabric off. Old vintage wire lampshades are easy to find.

I think the bare bulb would really bother my eyes. It doesn't bother you?

Julie from Texas

Actually, I think you should try one of those candlelight shaped bulbs in a low wattage. I'll bet that would give it a more romantic look.

Tina Smith

thats what I have in it. And it doesnt bother me at all...

Tina I love it, I have one of mom's that is
just the wire left and right now it is on
top of my dress form. That is what I had
planned on doing to it. It doesn't have that
wonderful shape like yours though. There is
a bracket you can buy that would screw onto
your socket that holds a small glass shade
if some of your commenters need one. Your
shade is absolutely fabulous.....as usual.

How I wish I was creative like you and Monica! Thanks for the inspiration and all the fun ideas. Love this project! Take care.

Dear Tina,
Thanks for sharing this unique idea! I bought an old antique lampshade with vintage fabric that was also in shreds. I bought it for its shape. I have viewed several ideas for using it but this is the best - one that I think I am capable of doing. LOL
Thanks again for sharing.

Hugs,
Connie

I have been trying to think of something different for a lamp in my den. I will now be looking for an old lamp shade! What a great idea! Looks wonderful! How many different types of fabric and how long did you do the strips? Thanks soo much for sharing another great idea! Love, love, love your blog!!!:-)

Judith

I love this and can't wait to cover an old lamp shade I was going to throw away. Thank you for another great idea Tina.

Merrie

I have liked you ever since I discovered your blog but now that I know your a baileys fan too your rating just went way up ;) Fun lamp shade! I'm betting my daugher, aka "Peanut" would love it.

ann

What a cute idea! I have an old vintage shade that my puppy chewed the fabric off of...now I know what to do with it!! Thanks, Tina and Monica! You inspire me so much!!!

Julie from Texas

Oops, sorry, I guess the photo just makes the bulb look like a regular round one. Enjoy it. :-)

Maryellen
