I'm home now for the month of September...
....sure missed YOU and blogging.
You may have noticed I ((had)) a post today about my vintage mink wrap I bought at Canton First Monday. I was receiving negative comments and emails about ...
'the killing of animals'...
I decided to delete that blog post.
I never wanted to offend anyone.
.......now I'm thinking twice about ever wearing it! Someone might throw paint on me!
I'm still giving this much thought.
; - (

Just so you know, I adore your blog! Don't let that bother you!
Take care!

You can please some of the people some of the time...
Don't let some negative comments bother you. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But that's all it is. Wear it if you like it!

Okay, for what it's worth --- here's my 2 cents on it ---- Wear it !! It is adorable. I saw it yesterday before it was deleted. It will look smashing on you. Don't let someone else's opinion get to you. I always figure if I run something I am in doubt about past first my God and if I have a green light, then past my husband....still a green light -- I go for it.
This isn't a matter of "thumbing your nose at" others or being rebellious and "in your face" --- just simply about what YOU feel comfortable with and how you live.
Well, I told you it was only about 2 cents worth :) Just wanted to encourage you.

Tina,
I, too, love your blog. It is a tough issue, and I understand about not wanting to offend anyone. Have a good rest of the day.

Wear it. Minks are raised for fur; should we not use cowhides, leather, or eat beef, buffalo, and fish? IT's vintage anyway, so you are also being green. People get on the internet and anonymously impose their point of view on others. They don't care about you and what you think. This is Texas anyway! Susie

Tina...I thought that may be the reason you deleted it...I thought it would be really neat with jeans also! It's vintage...it's not like you selected them and had them killed! Enjoy wearing it if it ever gets cool!

Wear it with pride Tina if you feel comfortable. It's not like you went out and killed it yourself. Do those people who left negative comments not wear leather shoes??? Come on now.

I am so bummed that I missed the picture. Don't let the animal rights people change you. And as someone said already, the coat already exists in the world. Whatever mink it was would be dead of natural causes by now anyway. Repost pretty please.

Tina... enjoy your mink!! I agree with another post about,"so we shouldn't show a chicken on a plate, a new belt or leather shoes???".... Nonsense!!! I love your mink and those who dont' want to wear fur shouldn't, but dont' put your beliefs on the rest of us who adore fur!!! Wish I had a mink and I'm going to look for one the next time I'm thrifting!!! Enjoy!!!

You did NOTHING wrong. You did not kill the animal. You just brought something you thought beautiful. If you want to wear it DO. It is not up to anyone but you.
If you decided not to wear it, consider having someone make it into a teddy bear. I have a friend who does this with real mink and fake mink and they are so beautiful. I can not tell the real from the fake either.
Blessing to you

Miss Tina I have two that I got from hubbys gramma and I throw them over the back of the chair in winter just to cuddle with and I often times put one on my mannequin! I don't wear them out because of the anti fur people! Whom I respect!
Its beautiful....I am sure you will enjoy it in your home somewhere!

Oh my goodness. Wear it and be happy. They have their opinion and you have yours. You aren't asking them to wear it too. Enjoy it and go with what you love. It has worked well for you so far!! Lori L

Recycled, vintage fur doesn't count! I have a persian lamb car coat with fox fur collar and bottom trim. It has bracelet sleeves and it uber warm. I bought it at a American Cancer Society resale shop! If anyone gives me grief, I say it is vintage! Wear your mink and own it!

WEAR IT!!!! It is sooo pretty and you will look wonderful in it! You didn't harm any animals by buying this mink! Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but shouldn't make others feel bad, by voicing it!! THIS IS TEXAS!!! WEAR IT WITH PRIDE!!!

Tina, I've been reading your blog for a couple of years now and this is the first time I've commented. I received two fur coats from my Grandma when she passed, one is a beautiful full length the other is a short jacket. I have worn the long coat to formal functions, I guess I feel safe in doing so because there are many women in furs. I've never had the nerve to wear the jacket, I too am afraid someone will throw paint on it (and me!). My daughter tells me that the coats are sooo old now, the animals would be long dead from natural causes! I'll wear mine if you wear yours! I did see the post and think it would be darling with jeans!
Wear your fur in good health!

It is a vintage mink wrap and you should be proud to have it. Mink are raised for their fur. I agree "wear your fur in good health". Judy

Whatever happened to that mink was long ago. Honestly, I think some people need to get their knickers out of a knot. If that is their opinion, fine. Just don't be hating on anyone else for having a differing one. Do they wear plastic shoes because, if they don't, they're just as guilty as anyone else. Just my two cents, of course. Now feel free to delete my comment. :D

I agree about reposting. I missed the blog but would love to see your vintage purchase. I have really missed you but know you have had a wonderful time at Laurie Anna's. Take care.

Hey girl.....It is a vintage piece, good grief it does not take much to get a "rise" out of some people these days! I would not worry or lose sleep over your post! Cathy aka GGJ

OMG - Wear it Tina and strut your stuff!!! Let that comment go in one ear and out the other!! And block em! :))

I think its sad that some people put more value in animals than they do in people anymore. Wear it and enjoy it! Why are we so concerned about the animal rights people's felling when they could care less about ours.
