Ball jar chandy...

One of my ((favorite)) creative ideas LaurieAnna had was this great Ball jar chandelier...the chandy before was really pretty but kinda plain...

LaurieAnna took aqua Ball jars - flip them up-side down, and sit them over the light bulbs. So fun and easy!

We love that!!

Genius!

 

I was so inspired by LaurieAnna's idea...when I got home from the Fall Preview Show... I gathered up some of my aqua Ball jars and dressed up my kinda plain chandy... 

I LOVE IT!

So much cuteness...

Monica and I have been ((playing)), I mean "working" all week with LaurieAnna and Willie for the upcoming Fall Preview Party.  Today we spent the day working with jewelry and all the fabulous Linen clothing! 

Oh my....so much cuteness!

And, if that wasn't enough eye candy, Rebecca of Heaven to Earth brought in some of the most beautiful creations! 

You're not going to believe how much there is to see in this new store, it's over the top wonderful!  I've never seen anything like it!

Aunt Sentis's Fig Preserves Recipe~

 

Monica and I spent the day in the kitchen making

Fig and Peach Preserves.

We were honored that Bob's Aunt Sentis shared her recipe with us. I love that I have her 'fig and peach preserves' recipe in my 'recipe collection'. Aunt Sentis is a wonderful country cook.

Preserves are simple to make and fun!

We'll enjoy them throughout the winter months.

We divided 36 jars of fig and peach preserves between us.

 

Wash figs in soda water. Stem them.

Put in large kettle and cover with sugar.

Let set overnight.

 

Cook on low heat.
 
 

Follow the same recipe for peach preserves.

Stir so the figs won't stick. Cook until thick.

4 hours or more...

Then add 1 cup white karo.

Fill into sterilized jars. Wipe sealing edge clean and seal.
