Sunday afternoon Milton, Mother and I went on a beautiful drive through a sea of golden daffodils~ Mrs. Lee's Daffodil Garden in Gladewater, Texas.
I agree, it is a private paradise tucked away among our East Texas landscape.
Come on a drive with us..
You can stop here and take photos...
Golden haven of beauty...
There are lots of places to have a picnic~ you'll have to spread several blankets on the ground. There are no picnic tables. Picnics are more fun that way!
Little log cabin in the woods~
3-acre pond named Lake Josephine sits behind the log cabin...
Hours: 10am - 4pm daily, 7 days a week from mid February through March or until the daffodils are no longer in bloom.

What a beautiful way to spend the day. I guess they planted a bunch of daffodils and then they naturalized?

Oh, this is the kind of day trip I love...the flowers are just magnificent. The climate in E. Texas is so different than ours out here in W. Texas. Flowers and trees are much larger, more colorful and more plentiful...we don't get the rains you do and we have hot, dry winds here. Springs are NOT pretty out here where the sand blows so much. Summers are nice, tho...

Thank you for that beautiful glimpse of spring from your neck of the woods...I guess it'll make its way slowly northward...and in a couple months we'll see it, too! Beautiful photos!

Gorgeous, I can't wait for spring. When my son was little he loved daffodils and told us they were his favorite flower. They always make me think of him as his "little" self and smile. I think I'll see if I can find a bunch to bring home from the grocery so his "big" self can enjoy them. Thanks for the breath of spring, Pam

We have a place just like this where I live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada's. It's called Daffodil Hill. You can find it by entering Daffodil Hill into your search engine. Very similar. Not sure if ours have bloomed yet but I'm so looking forward to spring:)

Hi Tina! Wow! Thanks for sharing! Daffodils are my very favorite flowers, but we've still got lots of snow here....no daffodils in sight! But I'm ready for them. In fact, I bought a bunch from the store the other day. What a lovely sight! I know you enjoyed your outing - lucky girl!
