First I want to show my fun new/old plate rack...I bought it from LaurieAnna~ it's a trough chicken feeder! LaurieAnna uses them in her home and now in her wonderful shop to display plates and platters! (and yes Mother, I washed...(scalded) it thoroughly! I had to have one...my never ending collection of plates and platters are perfect here. I can keep buying! ; - )
Second...my cute new lamp shade!!! Made by Leslie ~ This is one of two cutecutecute shades Leslie created. Made out of vintage aprons!! I'm so proud of my shades~ they are exactly what I wanted. Thank you Leslie~ your the BEST!!
Visit Leslie at her etsy shop ~ you'll love it!
Coconut cake~ from a boxed cake mix... it's fantastic!
Duncan Hines cake mix and Duncan Hines can frosting...
I put one cup of coconut in batter...

Yuummmmm! The cake looks delicious! Did you make a homemade icing for it? Which brand of mix did you use? Thanks for sharing such lovely photographs.

The lampshade is adorable! I've been to her site and didn't see any lampshades...
did you ask her to make the shades for you? The cake looks sooooo yummy. I can't believe it's from a mix. Have a great weekend! Becky

The cake looks delish! I remember my mother-in-law making a cake and frosting it something like this? Care to share your frosting recipe?..Love the dish rack. I have also seen the smaller ones used as spoon and utensil holders hanging on a wall.

First , the cake looks wonderful and easy too. You can't beat that. Another unique way to display plates. I love plates too, and it seems to never be enough room to display them. The lampshades are perfect for you, with the red and white. You have a great evening.

Tina,
I love visiting your blog. It is one of my favorites. I wanted to let you know that I made your Popcorn Cake for my friends and their children at our coffeehouse this past Friday. Everyone thought it was just too cute. The young girls were so excited when they saw the cake and the many colors; they were first in line to try it. Everyone approved. My son, Seth, basically made the whole thing by himself! He was quite proud of the results! Anyway thank you for your postings--your blog has brought much joy to me!
Sincerely,
Sharon

Tina, I LOVE that plate rack. The funny thing is we live on a chicken farm/ranch and I have these outside. I am heading out the door as I type to go get one and scald it! Thanks for the great ideas!!!

First of all, I'd like a piece of that beautiful coconut cake!! Yum! I really think the little dish rack is adorable. I just love your kitchen. I would to see just a post on your kitchen. You may have done it already, but I just think it's wonderful. Is your island the only green cabinet or do you have all the bottom cabs in green. I think it looks great!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia;)
