A Challenging Week....
This week has been challenging to say the least. It started Wednesday when I was working at Canton. At 5:30 my Mother called my cell phone and told me she had fallen again and thought she had broken her left hip. Mother fell in her kitchen. Just last November she had fractured her right hip~ she was 5 1/2 months in recovery from that fall. It turns out Mother did fracture her left hip. She had surgery Thursday and is now resting well. So we start again with many trips to the hospital and then to rehab.
This weekend was Canton Trades Day~ I was there to help set-up on Wednesday, missed Thursday because of Mother's surgery. I did work on Friday and Saturday. Friday was the BIG TORNADO! As soon as Monica and I got to Canton the rain started then the wind started blowing very hard...We had no idea a tornado was headed our way. The alarm system for the city of Canton failed to work. That tornado went right over us, right over the Arbors..I had never heard wind blow that hard~ we heard all kinds of things falling and glass breaking. Then the alarm system went off (a little late) after the tornado past us. It flipped a truck in the road right in front of the entrance of Canton Trades Day~ A lot of the outside vender's received damages as well. I don't know if anyone was hurt...we were all OK. It's really scary to think what could have happened. That's the closest I've ever been to a tornado...
Please remember my Mother Margie in your prayers...
...Tina

Tina, so very sorry to hear about your Mom's fall. I know that worries you so - I'll pray for her quick recovery. And also, thank God for watching over all of you at Canton - we never know what each day will bring, do we? I'm sure you all were terrified -so sorry you had to go through that - but grateful to hear that you or no one else was injured. Sending you well wishes for a better week - Blessings your way! I was @ Canton on Friday. Crazy day. The tornado was early, early. And the rest of the day was delightful weather. Mother nature... And bless your poor Mom. That just makes me feel sad knowing she'd just recovered. Take care of yourself too. Glad you were safe.

I am so sorry to hear about your mother, but so glad to hear that you were not harmed. What a close call! I've just recently fell IN LOVE with your blog, and i (along w/the rest of your readers) would be devastated if anything happened to you or your family. I know that god had his angels protecting you that day and that he will help your mom with a speedy recovery.
Many Blessings,
Angela

Tina,
I figured something had to have happened since you haven't posted in a while. I'm sorry to hear about your mom....she'll be better soon!I'm also glad ya'll were ok after the tornado.
We just had an F1 come through here in Feb.I woke up at 4 am thinking people were throwing rocks all around the house..it was hail. Then found out later that morning, that it went right through our Lakeside Park and uprooted over 400 trees, completely leveled a pavilion, tore scoreboards and threw them across ball fields and twisted bleachers. The park is still closed due to clean up. But,during the week after the tornado, they hadn't closed it yet and I managed to go in and take over 100 pics...never have seen anything like it.

I'm sorry your mother has another hip injury. Those hip breaks are so difficult on elderly people. I worry about my mother falling. She is almost eighty. She lives with us, and our house is three-story.
I will be praying for you, your mother and your family.
So glad that you didn't have even closer contact with the tornado.

Dear Tina,
Those same nasty tornadoes caused horrible damage by me too (Missouri) It sounded like a train, very creepy. I am so glad you are safe though. I am saying a prayer for your Mama and for you too. I know from personal experience with my Mom how hard it is to see them go through health issues. Stay strong.
Blessings,
Carol

Tina,
I am so very sorry to hear about your Mom's fall. And how scary about the tornado. Bless your sweet heart, life is sometimes kinda lazy, lay-back... dare I say, boring.... and how we wish for that when it suddenly turns all topsy turvy like this. I'll say a prayer for your sweet mama... and for you and Mika, too... Hugs.

Tornados scare me to death and I only lived in tornado country for a short few years. Margo (Robolady) said that the gal whose truck was blown over, crawled out and kept right on shopping!
Saying a prayer for your precious mom and asking for a smooth recovery and complete healing of that hip.
