Southern Tea Cakes...

This is my favorite Tea Cake recipe~ you can cut the dough in any shape you desire. Get you vintage cookie cutters out and make a batch for someone you love...

In a large bowl sift flour, baking soda, and baking powder together.

Add 2 cups sugar...

2 eggs...

1/2 cup buttermilk...

1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter, softened...Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Dough should be soft.

Roll dough out onto a floured surface until approximately 1/4-inch thick. Cut dough into desired shapes and bake on a slightly greased sheet for 10 to 12 minutes...

Southern Tea Cakes~

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 teaspoons baking powder

Preheat oven to 350 degrees~

In a large bowl sift flour, baking soda, and baking powder together. Add remaining ingredients and blend well. Dough should be soft. Roll dough out onto a floured surface until approximately 1/4-inch thick. Cut dough into desired shapes and bake on a slightly greased sheet for 10 to 12 minutes.

6 to 8 dozen...

make it Valentine Pretty!

I'm cleaning "cottage" this morning...changed and ironed the top sheet and ironed the pillowcases...

I found this Valentine pillowcase at Canton~ sweet little thing!

Beautiful flowers and butterflies...

I found this grapevine wreath in an antique store in Gladewater, Texas. It's in the shape of a heart. It has this sweet tin frame attached to it. The photo is of my Dad and Mom and oldest brother Ric as a baby. That was many years ago~ that baby is now 58.

Love has never been a question of age.

I shall never be so old as to forget what love is.

Sweetie Pie Cupcake Towels.....

Thank you Brooke...I love my Valentine gift. Brooke is Mika's bestfriend from childhood...they are still bestfriends! Brooke is married now and has a sweet baby boy~ Aden. We love them!

God doesn't look at how much we do,

but with how much love we do it.

Now I want to bake cupcakes....................

Cornbread Salad~

Have you ever had Cornbread Salad? It's good~ got all those good things in it...like bacon, tomatoes, pecans, onions...You can serve it with anything. It's friendly like potato salad. Try it~ you'll like it! ; - )

2 pans of cooked cornbread...this is scratch cornbread. ; - )

8 slices of bacon cooked crisp, broken up. ;-)

1 purple onion, chopped. 1 cup green onion, chopped. 2 fresh tomatoes, diced. Pecans. Bacon.

Crumble your cornbread in a big bowl...

Add all your ingredients...

Stir in 1 pt. mayonnaise...

Cornbread Salad~

2 pans cooked cornbread

The Market At Cherry Hill Cottage~

The one thing I lovelovelove in my cottage is my feather wreath...The first time I ever saw a feather wreath was at my friend Sandy Inscore's home~ I had to have one! I made one for me and one for Mika. Now this one is for.......? It's soft, with lots of thick shabby white feathers.

I'm going to name my little "dishes". This one is "The Emily". This cheese ball dish is dress up and ready to go. But if you want perfection don't buy. This old plate has a little boo-boo on the underside. It's not bad~ you can't see it. But it is OLD and has an imperfection. Doesn't take away from it's "awe it's so cute!"...I would display it proudly in my cottage kitchen.

This old plate also has little "imperfections". If you want perfect don't buy. Also on this old plate on the underside there are little "chips". There are "dark" spots on the front side. Something you see quite often on white ironstone. You can see it in this photo. Neither of these imperfections take away from this great old plate. I would display it proudly in my cottage kitchen.
