Popcorn Cake~

Milton and I made this fun colorful cake last night~ it's to snack on tonight for New Year's Eve...I promise if you don't die laughing when your putting this cake together then somethings wrong with your laugher... ; - )

2/3 cup raw popcorn in cup of oil...

1 stick butter...

1 (16-oz.) bag Marshmallows...

Melt butter and marshmallows over low heat..Pour over popped popcorn, M&Ms, and peanuts in a large bowl. Stir quickly to coat. Press into buttered bundt pan. Set 1 1/2 hours in refrigerator.

Boardinghouse Pound Cake~

There's something about a pound cake that reminds me of a nice Grandmother~ they always have a pound cake baked, baking, or talking about their favorite pound cake...This is one of our favorites~ it's good, nice and heavy, just like a pound cake should be...

OMGOSH! Who wouldn't gain a pound..we've got 1-8oz. pkg. cream cheese and 1 1/2 cups butter, softened.

Beat the cream cheese and butter together, add the vanilla.

While beating add 2 of the eggs, one cup of sugar and one cup of the flour. Repeat until all of the eggs, sugar and flour are used.

Spray a bundt pan w/ cooking spray~ pour batter into it. Without preheating the oven, bake at 300 for 2 hours.

Boardinghouse Pound Cake~

1- 8oz. pkg. cream cheese

1 1/2 cup butter- softened

1 tablespoon vanilla

6 eggs

3 cups sugar

3 cups cake flour

Cream the cream cheese and butter together, add the vanilla. While beating add 2 of the eggs, one cup of sugar, and one cup of the flour. Repeat until all of the eggs, sugar and flour are used. Spray a bundt pan or a 16 x 4 1/2" loaf pan w/ cooking spray. Pour batter into it, without preheating the oven bake at 300 for 2 hours.

Off the Christmas tree and in this old syrup bucket~ I couldn't bear to put away my red and white tulips...I don't think it's to early. Gosh...St.Valentine's Day will be here before we know it!

Blue Eggs...

I'm a collector~ a Jennifer Lanne collector. Milton got me this wonderful painting of blue eggs for Christmas . It was wrapped in a fabulous bag of burlap and tied with a pretty green ribbon. This is the forth JL painting that I own. I love the blue with my red and the yellow walls. Thank you darling Milton...and thank you Jennifer!

The Morning After....

The morning after...hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I've already started cleaning up...taking down the Christmas tree. I love how clean and neat everything looks after all the Christmas decorations are put away. Now, it's time to get ready for the New Year~ 2008...Can't wait!

Cheese Ball...

I know everyone has a cheese ball recipe~ this is mine.

Mix together cream cheese, pastrami, Accent, Worcestershire Sauce and green onions.

Make a ball~ roll in pecans...

Cheese Ball~

2 pkg. 8 oz. cream cheese

2 pkg. smoked thin sliced pastrami, chopped small

2 teaspoons of Accent

2 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce

3 or 4 chopped green onions

Mix and make ball. Roll in pecans.

Pecan Pie...

Waiting to be baked....Bake at 350 for 55 minutes or until set. Serve warm or cold.

Pecan Pie~

3 large eggs

1 cup sugar

3/4 cup light corn syrup

2 tablespoons butter, melted

2 teaspoons vanilla

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups pecan halves

Stir together eggs and next 5 ingredients; stir in pecans. Pour filling into unbaked pie crust. Bake at 350 for 55 minutes or until set. Serve warm or cold.

 

Green Beans....

3 cans of green beans...

Drain beans, reserving liquid. Add 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce, 4 tbsp. brown sugar, dash of garlic powder.

Put bacon slices on top...

Bake 45 minutes @ 350...

Green Beans

3 cans green beans

1 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce

4 tbsp. brown sugar

dash of garlic powder

bacon slices, cut in halves

Drain beans, reserving liquid. Mix juice from green beans with remaining ingredients. Pour over beans. Bake 45 minutes @ 350.
