Cherries In An Urn...

Tinaspics_201_1 I love cherries! When I see a "cherry" picture and I'm drawn to it...well I have to have it! That is how I felt when I first saw an original canvas painting of Jennifer Lanne. I WANT THAT! I WANT THAT PAINTING OF CHERRIES IN THAT URN...FOR CHRISTMAS! I was looking at her beautiful home and studio in the July 2006, Country Living magazine...I emailed Jennifer and...placed the husband's Christmas order~From Him to Me~that was the easiest Christmas shopping he had ever done! I have several "cherry" pictures scattered throughout Cherry Hill Cottage. I will share later, for instance...my vintage print I won on Ebay, I just had it framed. And my "cherries" painted on an old cabinet door. I have both of these hanging in my dining room...I also just won on Ebay a vintage print of a darling little girl looking down at a bowl of cherries. Can't wait to get this in the mail and get it framed. I want to share Jennifer's link with everyone...be sure to check out her home and studio and click on and see all of her darling canvas paintings...The three nest of eggs...I want that for my birthday, March 25. I better place my husband's order~ From Him to Me~  www.jenniferlanne.com   This post is dedicated to my friend~Sweet Cherry. I logged on this morning to a sweet email from Cherry. She was just checking on me, thought I was maybe under the weather because I hadn't posted in a couple of days...Cherry you will never know how much your thoughtfulness meant to me! Thank you for starting out my day with a ray of sunshine! Tinaspics_200_1

A Room Of Her Own...

This is my daughter's room...Mika. She is grown ~ living in her own shabby cute apartment. But, she still has her "room" here in Cherry Hill Cottage...it will always be her "room". The furniture is all different and the color of the walls, its a different color. Tinaspics_189_2 But the love and security I know she feels when she enters her room will always be the same.Tinaspics_187_1

My Cottage Desk...

Tinaspics_161_2 This is one of three desk areas I have here at Cherry Hill Cottage...this is where I get to do the fun stuff. I also have a little desk area in my kitchen, for bill paying. Not a fun task, but I've tried to "style" it with the "look" as if you would say..aahh, I wish I were paying those bills! I'll post a picture of that desk later...I also have an antique white wicker desk I bought on ebay. I didn't need it, but I WANTED IT BAD, REAL BAD! I have this deep love for white wicker. I don't use this desk for anything but sitting some of my favorite "stuff" on...you'll see it later. This desk is my computer desk where I  start  every day at Cherry Hill Cottage. Good Morning~

Old Windows...

I guess I'm into "collages"...I wanted to share this collage of old windows. This is a view of the back of our deck where we needed a "something"...a wall. We needed privacy. So what do I do? I put up windows~ See- through windows...what sense does that make? None. I just like the way it looks. I thew the "need" for privacy out the window! Cimg0272_2

A Touch Of Spring At Cherry Hill Cottage...

Hello! This little snowman is feeding our tweet tweets, see the birdseed's in his hat? This is the closest to snow we get to here in East Texas, a concrete snowman...but its still cold! Tinaspics_173_3 My fresh door arrangement has done very well. I have ivy and a few yellow pansies in my little basket. I can't wait until spring! Tinaspics_174_3

Blue and White Bliss...

Tinaspics_209_1 Now I know this is not for everyone...but I couldn't wait till we got the beadedboard ceiling put up so I could surround my chandelier with my blue and white plates...My husband thought I had lost it! And if I hadn't needed his help with "sticking them up there" he wouldn't have known about it until the "glue had dried"...My favorite little plates are the ones with the blue birds. I like looking up and seeing birds flying! I'm seriously thinking about adding vintage teacups to the white plate...then I'll stop.

Me...

Tinaspics_134 You know what I see when I look at this picture? That line, right there on the left side of my face. I think thats a smile line.... yuck! I was feeling a little "old fashioned" today..so I braided my hair and up it went...my Mom wore her hair like this in the 40's. It looked better earlier today...my braids are falling...

Margie's Red Hat...

Tinaspics_208_1 This was my Mother's red hat...she wore it, lets see...40 years ago. I love hats. Nothing can thrill me more than a hat! Give me a hat and I'm happy! I'm a "hat girl"...I wear them every chance I get. For my birthday last year my daughter Mika surprise me with a few summer outfits...she didn't wrap them in packages, she had them laid out in "poses"...and with these outfits was a "hat" and when I was allowed to come in the room and see my birthday the "hat" was the very first and only thing I saw! Well needless to say...I loved the hat and wore it all day! This red hat of Mother's is very special...I remember it well. I remember the dress she wore with it. And the shoes. She wore white gloves. She looked like a model, she looked like a sweet Valentine...

A Gift From Mika, The Write Plate....

Tinaspics_202_1 My daughter Mika gave me this cute plate for Christmas. I can't tell you how much I love it! Its called "The Write Plate" www.thewriteplate.com Its so much fun. Its a simple creative way to communicate with your family, friends and guests in your home. My plate is a 12" porcelain ware with scalloped, pierced edges that allow interchangeable ribbon to compliment  with your cottage home. It  comes with a pen so you can display your messages, and with one swipe, your message can change to something else...Its just a cute unique alternative to a chalkboard or wipe boards. Its great for special occasions to everyday notes. Think about how cute this would be to display your "menu" when you are having a dinner party. Or displaying "Happy Birthday" to that special person...I'm loving my "Write Plate" ...its right there at the top of my favorite things list! Thank you my sweet Mika Sue! I love you baby...Tinaspics_211_1
