My Little Cheese Ball Dish...

Cimg0562_5 I wanted to share this cute idea with anyone that has one of those "ugly" cheese ball sets you know, the set with that ugly little brown board! The set includes just two parts a glass dome, and that brown board. Now...throw the board away...toss it! Find a pretty vintage plate a 10"...a vintage teacup and keep your glass dome. Glue the vintage teacup to the plate w/super glue. Tie a pretty little ribbon that coordinates with your teacup on the knob. Now, how cute is that! Fill with cookies, a cheese ball, or candy...

I find all the time these cheese ball sets at Goodwill, thrift stores, and garage sales, for $1.00 or 2 maybe less. If I'm lucky  that "ugly" brown board will never made it home with me!

As you can see in my photo I don't have a pretty little ribbon tied to the knob...but, I do now. In my cottage kitchen, I have tied on a red and white check ribbon to match my red and white check curtains...too cute!

I always get rid of those brown boards, but I use the top for a cloche like cover.

Hey wait a minute!!!!!!! Your idea is wonderful, but DON'T throw the board away!!!!!! They are perfect for risers for figurines, lamp bases, painted with flowers in the center on a white background to hang on the wall, rough 'em up and paint a faded apple in the center and two faded blue bands around the outside and display with pitchers and bowls from Marshall Pottery, and a bazillion other things I can think of...sanded and restained for trivets...etc.. Send 'em ALL to me!!!! I love your site!!
