I'm a lucky wife and mother of a beautiful daughter.
Hello! I'm Tina Smith, I live in beautiful East Texas..almost all my life. I was born in Andrews, Texas, 50 years ago. It will soon be 51 years my birthday is approaching soon, March 25. This day I share with my twin brother, Tony Johnson. A relationship that is very special. He is like my other half. I've always been with him, before birth, after birth, growing up together, we talk daily. Twins, I'm blessed to have him as my twin. I also have two other siblings. An older brother, Ricky Johnson his grown up name is "Ric", which he prefers. He is as funny as any "comedian", and he knows EVERYONE! My older sister, she is the "middle" child in the family, if that means you are kind, giving, helpful, loving, that is Kathy Long, she is all the above. I'm so glad I have a sister, we love all the same things, how fun is that! My parents are Darrell and Margie Johnson, they were married for 57 years. I say "were", until the Lord decided to take Daddy to the heavens above with him. We lost Daddy to cancer on November 24, 2005. That day was Thanksgiving Day. He died on Thanksgiving Day. I would have never thought in all my life in all the wonderful Thanksgiving Days we celebrated that Daddy would die on that day! Thanksgiving will never be the same. My Mother Margie, she is strong and healthy but misses Daddy her husband every minute, every hour, every day...she is lost without him by her side. Can you imagine this, she married Daddy when she was 18 they were together for 57 years. Now he is gone....just to much! Mother and I stay busy together, we shop, talk, cook, and argue, yes argue with each other, hey, whats a mother, and daughter relationship if they don't argue. Its a very healthy relationship, when she is fedup, she says, "Don't say no more words"...and we laugh! I have one child, Emily Mika Chapman, she goes by Mika. Mika is 24, graduated from college with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. She is an Area Sales Manager for Dillards in Tyler, Tx., she lives on her own and we are very, very proud of her. Mika and I are very close we have the best time together, she has the best sense of humor. She is so funny we are always laughing! I'm so excited that she likes and enjoys shopping for antiques, decorating, and collecting. I'm hoping she will learn to cook. I'm thinking when she has more "time" she will develop the love for kitchen duties...Now, my husband Milton. I think he is the sweetest, the kindest man I've ever known. He works hard to make a living for us. He thinks it is fine if I stay home and not work. If and when I ever want to go back and start working outside the home he will be happy for me. Milton works for TXU. He is an operating system analyst. When Milton is not at work he is helping me with all my home projects painting, remodeling, working in the yard. I'm sure he would rather be golfing but like I said, he is so kind and sweet. We've been married this May 24, ...21years! Milton is Mika's stepdad, but no one would ever know it. They love each other just like she were his own. She always said, if something ever happens to you and Milton, I'm going with Milton! I think that is pretty special! LOL! We also have two darling sweet babies, a dachshund, Tully and a chocolate lab, Monnie. I wanted to create this blog to have a "diary"of my thoughts and home photos. To share my ideas with others that have a love for decorating, collecting, antiquing, cooking, and flower gardening.
I have a passion for decorating and collecting. I love to scour flea markets, antique shops, Goodwill, any thrift shop, estate sales, and auctions. My favorite, that I do daily, I Ebay! I don't have to always buy, but I love looking. I would love to have my own Ebay auction site. Something that I'm really thinking about...I am, with a dear friend of mine putting together a fun "little booth" for an upcoming "outdoor festival". If it works out it could mean something bigger! I also love to bake. I love sweets! I enjoy cooking. I love flowers growing them and arrangeing them. I always have fresh flowers in our home. I try to grow what I can cut and display in our home. In the winter Sam's Club is my flower source. I love all kinds of music...James Taylor, The Eagles, Nora Jones, John Mayer, Mary J. Blige, Josh Groban, James Blunt. All 70's music...
